2012 Billboard Music Awards: Best Dressed

Alicia Keys was the ultimate sophisticate and a major highlight of the 2012 #BBMA, which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Alicia Keys wore a full-length, body-hugging, noir Azzedine Alaïa Couture gown. The gown featured high-neck detailing and an all-over sleek silhouette.

Repossi multipiercing earrings (earcuffs), Jennifer Fisher gold hand chains, and Brian Atwood heels completed the look.  Major props to her fashion stylist, Wouri Vice!

Makeup was minimal, with black eyeliner defining the eyes (on the top lash line), and her lips made quite the statement in a bright apple red lacquer. Her manicure was a bright rouge lacquer as well. Her hair was an elaborate braided up-do, created by hairstylist Tippi Shorter.

Katy Perry sported gorgeous ombré, violet locks that coordinated with her on-trend, dark lips. She wore a sequined, lilac gown from Blumarine's Fall 2012 Ready-To-Wear (RTW) collection and a diamond embellished bangle set. Also, she brought her grandmother to the awards [too cute].

Taylor Swift looked elegant in a floor-length gown from Elie Saab's Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The gown featured diaphanous paneling, a lace bodice, and pleated skirt detailing. Her makeup included bronze eyeshadow and a natural-pink pout. Her hair was straight, with a blunt fringe.

Miley Cyrus donned a risqué Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble, which was paired with monochrome-spliced Christian Louboutin stilettos. Her makeup included [her flirty signature] winged liner and muted pink lip gloss. Her hair was short, tousled and voluminous.

I really fell in love with the gold, body-harness jewelry that Miley Cyrus was wearing... If anyone happens to know who designed the piece, please share as I would greatly appreciate it!

Who do you feel was the "best dressed"?

Luxury Cocktail Dresses from HauteItIs.com

As the weather gets warmer, hemlines get higher. HauteItIs.com, an innovative global couture online shopping site, features one-of-a-kind cocktail dresses for the warmer weather from world-renowned fashion designers, such as Gaurav Gupta and Namrata Joshipura.

Gaurav Gupta's Flame One-Sleeved Dress ($245)
Born in India and an alumnus of London’s Central Saint Martins, Gaurav Gupta is a “radical”—creating and influencing global fashion trends. Well known for his prints and signature-drape style, Gupta’s pieces are made for the modern woman who prefers to experiment and take risks with her ever-changing style. Remain on trend for 2012 by replacing your little black dress for the bold and unexpected little red dress, such as Gupta’s "Flame" one-sleeved, cocktail dress that epitomizes the hot nights ahead with its striking design and asymmetrical shape (retails for $245).

Namrata Joshipura's Rocket Shift Dress ($445)
Whereas Gupta is known for his “futuristic” pieces, Namrata Joshipura is best known for her “wearable” fashions. Her cocktail dresses radiate an exquisite and elegant appeal, as Joshipura fuses contemporary silhouettes with modern interpretations of artisanal embellishments. With lace being one of the most wearable trends for 2012, Joshipura’s black-sequined “Rocket” shift dress (retails for $445) combines a modern cut with lace detailing—ensuring that you will be comfortable as well as glamorously chic. Plus, the dress is evocative of the opulent 1920s

According to Manjari Saha, founder and head curator of HauteItIs.com: “There are many notable designers emerging from countries like India, Sweden, or Brazil, for example, whose collections are truly inspired.” Hence, HauteItIs.com seeks to be a centralized catalog for awe-inspiring pieces from various international designers’ collections.
